Step Three: Put chunky blonde highlights in your hair, thinking it's a good step toward blonde.
("SKUNK HAIR" -- but mine wasn't this cute.)Step Four: Decide that going blonde was a bad idea. Ignore husband's chuckles.
Step Five: Buy a box of light golden brown dye to hide your sins. Apply dye.

Step Six: Admire your beautiful (though by accident) light brown highlights. Vow to never try going from dark brown to blonde again.
